At 8:34am in London this morning The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby girl who weighed 8lbs 3oz. We are still waiting on a name and may wait a few more days. It seems possible that HRH will stay overnight in the hospital.
Per a Letters Patent signed by HM The Queen in 2012 the new addition to the Cambridge family will be a princess; however, historically a daughter born to a Duke of Cambridge would have been “only” Lady Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Duke of Cambridge brought little Prince George to the hospital to meet his new sibling around 4:00pm GMT. The photo below caused me to squeal almost as much as the birth announcement!
He’s so precious! Matching outfits for father and son–and, yes, I believe that is the same sweater that William wore when George was born.
The Queen sent a happy message to the couple by dressing in all pink for a function later this morning. Stay tuned for more details as they come! Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and to Prince George!
