Cambridge Tour: Days 10 and 11

Here is the photo of the day (although technically it was yesterday):

It looks like they’re having a pretty awful time, huh? Last night (US time) the Royal trio landed in Sydney, Australia and visited the famous Opera House and played around with cricket bats–just a normal day, am I right?

Today the couple visits the Blue Mountains and a region called Winmalee, which was ravaged by bush fires in 2013. The Duke and Duchess met with community leaders and those affected by the devastation.

(Is it just me or does it look like the Duchess is one to talk with her hands? I’ve seen that gesture before, for sure.)

The past week has held cricket in heels, a wombat-gifting ceremony, wine tasting, and a Palm Sunday service, not in that order. There was an absurd flurry of speculation that the Duchess was pregnant because William made an off-hand remark that a woman who made a baby blanket for little George might need to make a new one soon. OK PEOPLE, JUST CHILL. I think he was just making small talk! And then the world saw the couple drinking wine, so of COURSE she can’t be pregnant again. WHEW. Glad we got that out of the way.

Some highlights from the past few days:

A wombat for George.

And some wine for Mum…

I don’t even look this good in my dreams…

On a sartorial note, I love the repurposed red suit (especially minus the turtle neck that she wore with it the first time, in St. Andrew’s in 2011) but I wasn’t as wild about the teal dress to start, though I’m warming more to it now. It’s also nice to know that the Duchess does what I do with clothes: If it fits, buy it in multiple colors (she owns the dress, which is by Australian designer Emilia Wickstead, in pink as well and has been seen in that twice before)! Yet again: The Royals, they’re just like us!

ISN’T THIS EXHAUSTING? I need a nap. Luckily, I get to go to bed. Tomorrow is Sydney for a Royal Easter Show and another visit to a children’s hospice.
