The Diamond Jubilee Tour just keeps going–and keeps getting better! An ultimate dream team of Royals visited Nottingham last week: The Queen, accompanied by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I know from an article in The Telegraph that the Duke of Edinburgh was, of course, originally scheduled to join Her Majesty, however, I’m not aware if The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s attendance was planned or “last-minute.”
A crowd of 35,00 came out to greet our intrepid Royals. Don’t they look dashing! This is the first time we’ve seen The Queen with her grandson and his new wife together since the wedding festivities, and the first on an official engagement. The Duke of Cambridge later made a speech in honor of his grandmother.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a coat that complemented Her Majesty’s outfit, a Missoni piece that The Duchess previously wore to Fortnum & Mason with The Queen in the early spring. One thing that I noticed last week, by coincidence, is that the Countess of Wessex has a similar coat in her wardrobe (although this was worn over a year ago). Perhaps it’s the Duchess who took style tips from her aunt-in-law! (I doubt it, but Sophie is obviously fashionable in her own right these days.)
