The Duchess of Cambridge with Olympic Team GB

The Duchess of Cambridge demonstrated her field hockey experience with the Olympic Team GB hockey players this afternoon; while in school, the Duchess was captain of her hockey team. Observers said they were impressed with her ability to shoot, as she did make a goal on her fourth shot. The Duchess and her husband are ambassadors for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, so we will likely get to see more of her athletic side in the coming months.

Doesn’t she look fabulous?! It sounds like HRH also charmed the crowds–and the Olympic team–during her visit. She looks so determined, and it sounds like she knew she couldn’t leave until she’d scored a goal. See many more photos here.

This afternoon the Duchess will join the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on a visit to Dulwich Picture Gallery, and I have been excited about this since it was announced in early March. Stay tuned!

In other news, Prince Harry has returned to rave reviews after his tour of Belize, Jamaica, and Brazil. He also recently spoke to CBS about the pressures of Royal life, and how that has prevented him from really settling down. I’m sure thousands of women are currently thinking, “well, at least this means I still have a chance!” To all of you (this means you, Amanda!), I say, “good luck!” The Prince has also expressed excitement about his grandmother’s Jubilee, and the hope that he will return to the front lines of the army. I’ve never been one to chastise Harry harshly, but every year he seems to take on more duties and exemplifies the compassionate, human touch of his mother–he deserves high praise!

I first published this entry without a picture of Harry; I have corrected this below because who DOESN’T need more pictures of Prince Harry in her/his life??
