I know I have been gone for a long time and much has been happening in the lives of our favorite Royal Family; I hope to update again soon, I’m just finally on vacation and thus taking a break.
However, I saw a photo of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, at the Sun newspaper’s Military Awards at the Imperial War Museum this evening and I’m back to the “be still, my heart!” and thus had to post right away.
I love the Alexander McQueen dress on Kate and I am impressed that it is strapless and black. And, yes, I’m sure people will draw comparisons of this dress to the one that the late Princess of Wales wore to her first public event after her engagement back in 1981–the style is more streamlined, but it certainly is reminiscent (see below):
Of course, Daily Mail already devoted an article to the similiarity between these two dresses–I’m sure the resemblance was not lost on either the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge, but I doubt it was worn with the earlier dress in mind.
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates it and I’ll be back soon!
